Medical Detection Dogs receives no Government funding for the work it does and relies entirely on donations and sponsorship to provide the life-saving alert dogs and research. Your amazing help keeps us going.

There are lots of ways that you can support us, from sponsoring one of our puppies in training, paying for a puppy starter kit, naming one of our dogs, remembering us in your will, or providing your clothes, stamps or even your old car for us to use to raise much needed funds, please see the links on the left or go to our Giving page.

We keep our running costs to a minimum and spend every penny with care to ensure the most people possible can benefit from our work and your fantastic support.

Thank you

Please support Medical Detection Dogs

Fundraising is an essential part of our work, a great way to bring people together and really make a difference. We rely on public support and donations. Without you, our valuable life saving work would not be possible.

Below are a series of fundraising opportunities you can get involved with. In addition if you’re thinking of doing some fundraising or organising your own event? Looking for ideas or advice to make sure it’s a success? Have a look at our suggestions and get in touch to tell us all about what you’ve got planned.

Some fun fundraising ideas

Coffee Morning
Ask your neighbours and friends round for coffee and cakes and charge a small fee. You could combine this with a raffle or book sale etc.

Dinner Party
Invite your friends round for an evening of delicious food and wine – they will be happy to eat your food and make a donation to a good cause at the same time. To make this even more fun, you could make it a themed evening or have a murder mystery party.

Give it up
Sponsor members of the family to give up their worst habits for a week. Each time they forget they have to pay a fine.

Have a ‘Pound for Paws’ Day
Simply ask all your colleagues to bring a pound to work in aid of the charity, then collect together the money and send it to us.

Dress Down Day
Friday is always a good day to hold a dress down day. Advertise ahead of time so that your colleagues know to dress down and bring their donation with them.

Non-Uniform Day
Ask your local school if they would hold a non uniform day to raise funds for Medical Detection Dogs. Nominate an amount for each child to pay, perhaps 50p or £1.00, for the privilege of not wearing uniform and then donate the money to the charity.

Cake Sale
Ask your local school if they would hold a cake sale. Ask the children to donate cakes and then sell them to raise money for Medical Detection Dogs.

Sponsored walk
Do you know a lovely location? Do you have friends, family or a community that would enjoy the challenge of a walk to raise funds? Then why not organise your own sponsored walk for Medical Detection Dogs.

Dog walk
For those people with canine friends, why not organise your own or group sponsored dog walk. Either decide to collect sponsorship per mile or charge an entry fee? You could also combine the walk with a treasure hunt along the way?
